Rioch Edwards-Brown a former TV Researcher and Media Campaigner with 16 years experience of television and media work. She is expert in placing difficult news stories both on television and in the national press. Together with her husband Ian Brown, Senior TV producer with 26 years experience, she founded So You Wanna Be In TV?. Their NGO provides personality training, career advise and paths into TV for young people from all backgrounds.
I started-up So You Wanna Be In TV? after my son was shot and stabbed while in school. Rather than seek revenge I decided to reach out to the community.
So You Wanna Be In TV? is a London based, social enterprise for at risk, diverse and disadvantaged youth interested in a TV career. We provide free employability and soft skills programmes for young people with TV professionals who give two hours of their time free of charge.
Our objectives are to break the cycle of poverty, tackle unemployment and increase youth social and economic mobility. Our model can be rolled out across all industries.
Sponsorship is raised to provide free places for candidates to attend our sessions with TV professionals from the industry who give their time free of charge.
